Some people promote Universal Basis Services (UBS) rather than Universal Basic Income (UBI). I do not see them as conflicting and mutually exclusive proposals. UBS makes sense for health and education. UBI is appropriate to respond to different preferences of people in terms of food, clothing, arts and sports. After all we do not expect everybody to like and eat the same type of food. In other areas such as mobility, communication, internet, housing, electricity and water a combination of UBI and UBS may be best to combine personal choice and flexibility with basic security. In case you want to find out more about the concept of UBS, please visit the website of the Social Prosperity Network (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/bartlett/igp/research/knowledge-networks/social-prosperity-network ) and the New Economics Foundation on the topic (https://neweconomics.org/search/author/anna-coote ).
