Jeremy Corbyn agreed during a recent online meeting that the current benefits system in the UK is not fit for purpose. He stated “I want us to move on a bit further on our attitudes towards security and stability in our society. I’ve been following this debate quite carefully.” Similar to our UBI movement he would support universal basic income only together with the provision of properly funded health, housing and education services. We would like to add local transport, information and communication as further essential services.
